Tell me about your childhood and what hobbies you enjoyed as a kid.
I was part of a big and happy family in the Philippines, I am the 6th among the family of 8 children. I love dancing, so joining a dance troupe was inevitable. I was part of a Dance Troupe since Elementary until my College days. Our troupe was invited throughout the community to dance at school events and city festivals, 15years of my favorite thing in life, DANCING!

What inspired you to pursue a career in the financial services industry?
I am a numbers person, l love looking into the present and future values of money. So I started as a Financial Analyst intern at MetLife, in my college years and worked and transitioned to the wealth management side of the business, after graduation.

What advice would you give to women entering the financial services industry?
Patience and perseverance are two of the most important keys to strive in this industry. Attend as many workshops to learn more things and to gain more knowledge. Learning how to do a proper and thorough fact finding of the client/prospect is very critical in this career. It is the best way you can be sure in taking a holistic view of the client’s finances to fully understand their unique needs and concerns. You must be confident and take a proactive approach to everything. Creating a “Success” mentality if KEY! “Attention” to detail…”Attitude” of winning and to overcome negative people or issues….”Application” to learn and educate processes and fellow associates….”Appearance” To always realize and accept that personal appearance is one of the keys to success.

We can see fitness is very important to you! How do you create a healthy balance staying fit and managing your career?
I set aside time to take a walk every day after work, it is a must for me to stay healthy and feel good physically. Exercise must become a daily part of your life. Realizing exercise tremendously benefits our careers with energy and focus. Daily stretching is another vital part of my exercise mentality. While we all are extremely busy with LIFE, ensuring a daily routine to strengthen our bodies has always been important to me.

What fitness activities do you enjoy most and how do you incorporate these activities while utilizing your unlimited PTO?
I love to dance and do Yoga at home when I take mini breaks during workdays. I also love to go walking/hiking every day at the park or at the beach alternately after work. Time away from my career has been a focus to incorporate physical activities. Hiking at state and federal parks that challenges me to stay fit.
