Reed began his career in the financial services industry as an institutional fixed income wholesale and eventual bond trader for Simmons First National Bank and Wunderlich Securities in 2008 right in the heart of the financial crisis. Reed quickly rose to Vice President and was in charge of underwriting municipal issues. As what was historically low rates at the time took their toll on the fixed income markets, Reed looked for a new challenge and joined MetLife in 2016 in the VA suitability review division. This eventually led him to South Florida Coastal Wealth where he has been instrumental in the Broker/Dealer side mainly in Operations, Compliance, Annuities, Financial Planning, and CRIA. Reed has been extremely successful in running book of business reviews for advisors and finding opportunities. Recently he was part of a review for one of the agency’s top advisors and found several opportunities where the clients had variable annuities where the account value had eclipsed the rider and the client was paying the rider for essentially no protection. So far this has lead to over $40,000 of GDC with the potential for another $60,000 in the pipeline.
